Is AC duct cleaning worth it?
It is worth it when the system has never been opened, when the airflow has dropped, or when something smells. It is not worth it on a schedule somebody made up.
This page is the honest version, including when the answer is no. We would rather not sell you a clean you do not need than sell you one you resent.
When it is worth it
Three situations, and they are checkable.
A system nobody has opened since the property was handed over. Airflow that has fallen off without a fault to explain it. Or a smell that arrives with the cooling. In each of those there is something to find, and the inspection shows you whether there is.
When it is not worth it: a system cleaned in the last year with no change since, a brand-new fit-out, or a fault that is mechanical. A clean will not fix a failing compressor and nobody should tell you otherwise.

How to decide without guessing
Look first. It costs nothing on a cleaning enquiry.
An inspection opens the system, photographs what is inside it and gives you a written report — whether or not you book the work. If the ducts are clean, the report says so and you have lost nothing.
That is the whole argument. Everything else on this subject is somebody asserting a frequency at you.

How often should it be done?
It depends on the property, how many people live in it, when it was last done, and whether there has been building work. An inspection answers it for your home; a number in an article does not.
Will it lower my electricity bill?
It can help where airflow has genuinely dropped, because the unit runs longer to reach the same temperature. We will not put a percentage on it, because the honest figure depends on your system and nobody can know it in advance.
What does it cost?
AC duct cleaning, apartment: From AED 525per AC unit — so a three-unit home is that figure three times. The exact figure comes from the inspection and does not move once you have agreed it.
Do I have to leave the house?
No. We sheet the areas we work in and clean one zone at a time. Most customers stay home throughout.
